Well, the Lord told Moses to use that rod that was already in his hand and stretch it out over the sea. Instead, he used the common sense that the good Lord gave him, got up out of that mess and went back to his father’s house. The Bible says, “When he came to his senses he said, How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!” (Luke 15:17 NIV) And you know what he did after that? You don’t have to stay stuck in a rut. You don’t have to live your life “wishing things were different.” No! In cirrhosis, the liver tissue becomes scarred and fibrous, this prevents the liver from functioning normally, reducing life expectancy. Cirrhosis is the final stage of alcoholic liver disease, there are several other causes of liver cirrhosis, but for this article we will concentrate on cirrhosis as a result of heavy alcohol use.
Alcoholic Hepatitis is the second more severe stage of alcoholic liver disease. This stage is reversible if alcohol is stopped for about two weeks, giving the liver sufficient time to return to normal. However, the statistics show, an increasing amount of people are showing symptoms of alcoholic liver disease due to an increased use of alcohol. The build up of fatty acid only causes noticeable symptoms when severe. An estimated 90 to 100% of heavy drinkers have alcoholic fatty liver disease; 1 in 4 of these will go on to develop alcoholic hepatitis. We will eat, drink and be merry, and of course, there is nothing wrong with that. The doctor will first perform a clinical examination followed by albumin levels, and full liver function tests (LFT’s). In the UK, Alcoholic liver disease is widespread. Alcoholic hepatitis is reversible, but abstinence should be for several months or even years, lifelong abstinence is recommended.
When prolonged abuse of alcohol occurs over many years, it can cause the liver tissue to become inflamed, the condition is known as alcoholic hepatitis. Alcoholic hepatitis can also occur if a large amount of alcohol is consumed within a short space of time, as in binged drinking. A liver biopsy may be necessary to examine a small amount of liver tissue sample. Liver transplant may be required in severe cases, 3 out of 4 people with cirrhosis of the liver, who have liver transplant, lives for at least five years following transplant and many lives much longer. As an Intensive care nurse, I have first hand experience of this. I wonder; what’s in your hand that you’re not using? God made a way out of no way, and the water parted and stood at attention. Don’t tell me what God can’t do! I tell you all the time. The liver is said to hold about 10 to 13% of the body’s total blood supply at any one time. Often described as the body’s factory, it performs around 500 different functions as follow. Cirrhosis is a very serious condition, only about 30% of people with cirrhosis survive for five years after they have been diagnosed, the prognosis is much worst, if there is continued use of alcohol.

You have the power to change it. You have the power. You have to be sick and tired enough to shake yourself loose from whatever it is that has you tied up. Today, I want you to get sick and tired enough to tap into the wisdom, power, creativity, and fortitude that God has placed inside of you; and begin taking steps toward changing those things you’re unhappy with. Have you ever just felt downright “sick and tired” of something? You have to be willing to change your behavior, in order to change your situation. But don’t you know that if God is for you, He’s more than the whole world against you? He got sick and tired of being sick and tired. You’ve gotta be sick and tired enough to do something about it. But feelings are not enough. You see, your outward attitude is a result of your inward feelings. However, this can be a major warning sign that the consumption of alcohol is a danger to health since a healthy liver contains little or no fat.
